The subject of this painting is well known for is work as the guitarist of the Heartbreakers, Tom Petty and the heartbreakers and his notable work in Fleetwood Mac. I enjoyed doing this painting so much, Mike was truly one of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure of meeting in the music business. So nice in fact, that he had offered free guitar lessons to the person who bought the original painting. Reproductions of the original were donated to Mike’s charity, an initiative he created with his wife called Rock the Dogs, a charity set up to raise monies and awareness for animal welfare, for the prevention of animal cruelty and neglect. Something very near and dear to my heart as an animal lover.
